Well....the house approved the lottery and the Gov says he'll sign it! MS was 1 of 6 states still without the lottery.....

There will be lots of government checks spent on the lottery. Top question to lottery ticket clerks, "Can I use my EBT?"
Oh, and let me guess . . . the money will be used for education? This is the same lame excuse used and as you can see, education just keeps costing more money and many of the students are forced to get a dumbed down education. And then there are the people who pay for private school education and also pay taxes to keep the dumbed down education policy intact.
Although the lottery might be good, especially if you win, below are some odds to consider:
Odds of Winning Jackpot
EuroMillions 1 : 139,838,160
PowerBall (US) 1 : 292,201,338
MegaMillions (US) 1 : 302,575,350
SuperEnaLotto (Italy) 1 : 622,614,630
Even though the odds of winning are low, you will not have a chance to win unless you play.

I had always hoped that if Mississippi got a lottery, part of it would go to fund state scholarships— but that won’t be the case.

Bwhaaaaa..... Yea....let's see how long this funding source is available.....Those casinos were supposed to be the magic fund bullet for schools..... From what I see it will likely create more office jobs at central administration buildings.....more assistant principles.....in charge of counting free meals.....but one thing you can bet on.....very little will get to the kids and teachers in the classrooms.....

It's going to fund MDOT, and then after a certain amount, some will go to education. MDOT needs serious overhauling - there's no oversight of MDOT and the money they waste constantly. The lottery could have been a great thing to provide a free college education to MS highschool graduates - but of course, MS screws this whole thing up.
