Vacation Mode for Coaches at Ole Miss

Why do coaches feel they have to go on vacation mode at Ole Miss?  This happened with Cutcliffe, Mutt, Bianco, and Freeze.  These coaches produced positive results and then they go into a downward slump.  Instead of trying to maintain the upward competitiveness, they seem to get comfortable and quit coaching as effectively as they did in the prior seasons.

The obvious answer is that they get comfortable and complacent.  I would suspect that they are made to feel too comfortable.  Maybe it's having their behinds kissed non stop by the GOBs.  Maybe the AD gets so scared that he will lose a prized coach and not be able to get an adequate replacement that he overcompensates.  Maybe we are just cursed to be mired in mediocrity for eternity.

Might just be me but when there is no demand to win but to only be "competitive" it's like a get out of jail free card....win just enough to keep the wolves at bay....

Well I don't think we have anything to worry about having Luke with the reins.
