Re: Case of TB found at Ole Miss

It would not be surprising to find out that the carrier of TB is a foreign student who is from a country where immunizations are not routinely performed.  Does Ole Miss not require students to show proof of immunizations before enrolling in school?

Maybe......but I also wouldn't be surprised if it was otherwise.....  The Obama flood of illegals who were not screened for disease were dispersed all across the country and they brought in TB in record numbers of cases.....ditto that for Zika.  There have been record numbers of new cases of contageous diseases popping up that were all but eliminated in this country but are prevalent in thirld world nations.  But third world conditions don't seem to bother leftists.....so long as they are dumped on 'deplorable' communities.....

Back in the old days of Ellis Island people entering from foreign countries were screened and quarantined and those with diseases like TB were sent back where they came from.

TB vaccines are not effective.

Yep, and they aren't widely used. Routine testing to discover individuals who are exposed before they become symptomatic is the preferred way to control TB.
I worked for 2 years in a lab that did TB cultures. Two of our techs had a positive skin test (probably what happened at Ole Miss), they had to take preventative meds for a few months and the rest of us had to be tested more frequently for a while. No one ever developed full blown TB.
There is likely little risk to the student body, but it's good to see them doing due diligence.

Maybe the students can stage a walk out and not go to class for a few days.  This seems to be a thing that millennials like to do.
