Re: Wake Up Kids! It's Gameday!

Hotty Toddy!!!  LETS GO, REBELS!!!!!!!

Ole Miss needs a big win today.  They need a high scoring day for the offense and a solid day from the defense.  A decisive win would give the team some confidence that is probably badly needed after all of the recent fiasco.

One thing for sure is that I am not sad that Freeze is gone.  He had his chance to be a successful leader at Ole Miss, and in the end he tanked the team.  Freeze was too wrapped up in himself and proved to not be a true team player.  He proved to be a liar, cheater, and a hypocrite.   Now he has millions in the bank with plenty of time to fish, golf, and go to racing events.

Re: Wake Up Kids! It's Gameday!

Freeze had become a lightning rod for criticism even before the escort service calls became public. His presence had become harmful to the football program. While I'm sure the game broadcasters will talk about Freeze, the impact is minimized if the cameras can't zoom in on him on the sidelines.

I'm hoping that the start of the season will allow us to really begin the move away from the Freeze era. Once we receive the NCAA sanctions, whatever they might be, we can also move forward with that nightmare behind us.

With all the NCAA stuff and Matt Luke as our coach, etc., I am just having a hard time getting as fired up for this season as usual. I am hoping once I actually start watching games my excitement will return.

Show me someone who doesn't care if they win or lose and I will show you a loser.

Same here TennReb. The outcome is predetermined and the system is rigged against the little guy so I have a hard time getting excited to support it. (Declare Leo Lewis an unreliable witness against LSU and MSU but declare him a reliable witness against OM) Matter of fact I don't think I'll ever be enthusiastic about it again unless drastic measures are made to the structure of the NCAA system and there seems to be no signs of that coming. So in a few minutes I'll walk over and visit with friends but I have no interest in watching any games anymore.

It's what bureaucrats do best....squeeze all the enjoyment out of anything they touch....  I used to watch the NFL...but that turned into a form of the NBA with pads...and they are dragging college football down the same rat hole.....  I honestly don't care to watch some west coast team just to be a 'purist' and see football....any football...  I need to have some skin in the game for it to be interesting and our bureaucrats in the Lyceum, SEC, and NCAA are quickly making me want to withdraw any exposed 'skin' to avoid the political BS that is being peddled as 'fair' or a "level field"..... It's corruption that comes with bureaucracies.  It attracts the lowest level of gutter rats.....who scurry around feeding on the work others create.... Screw em....

Just not excited about it.  That's sad bc we have a generational talent at QB and loads of talent across the offense and even some on D.  This team has the potential to be fun but I can't get over Matt Luke being our coach (among other things).

Heck, I'm excited. Woke up early with a ton of energy. Broke down a bunch of pallets and made a deer feeder out of them just as a way to pass the time. I'm ready for some football!!!!
