Monday night I learned an interesting fact that was both intriguing and a solution to an issue. We were shopping for glasses and I was considering getting sunglasses with single vision instead of progression vision. The optician asked me if I would be reading things with my sunglasses. I mentioned that I usually lifted my sunglasses to see my cell phone screen and to read. He told me to turn the cell phone sideways. When I turned the cell phone sideways, I saw the screen with no problems!
While wearing polarized sunglasses, the reason you cannot see your cell phone screen or other LCD screens while they are in their normal position is because polarized lenses block horizontal light waves. After turning the cell phone sideways, the light waves became vertical and the polarized sunglasses no longer blocked the light waves. For this reason, pilots generally do not wear polarized sunglasses because they cannot see the instrument panels in the plane.

If you wear polarized sunglasses while eating a banana, is that considered racist?

Malcolm, only if the lens are amber colored. That's racist as hell.

That leaves me with a tough decision bowhunter. Do I ditch the sunglasses or quit eating bananas?

Wear the glasses and eat banana flavored moon pies. Problem solved!

Keep the sunglasses, dry the banana peels, and then smoke the dried peels. You will need the sunglasses to hide your pupils after smoking the dried banana peels.
