Former Ole Miss WR Markell Pack arrested on domestic violence charge

Former Ole Miss wide receiver Markell Pack was arrested by Oxford police on Tuesday. He was charged with one count of aggravated domestic violence.
Pack played out his final year of eligibility at Ole Miss during the 2017 football season.
The Oxford Police Department released details on Pack’s arrest via social media on Wednesday afternoon. He was booked in the Lafayette County Detention Center and his bond was set at $5,000.

The details on the nature of the domestic violence incident were not immediately available. “Domestic violence becomes a felony is a weapon is used or someone uses their hands to strangle the victim,” according to Alyssa Schnugg of the Oxford Eagle.
Pack appeared in seven games during the 2017 season under Coach Matt Luke, hauling in 7 receptions for 67 yards. His best season with the Rebels came in 2015, when he caught 31 passes for 380 yards and 3 touchdowns. He finished his Ole Miss career with 63 catches for 777 yards and 4 touchdowns.
He most recently appeared in the 2018 Tropical Bowl showcase game last month after raising the money to attend via a GoFundMe page. Pack caught 1 pass for 8 yards.
The former four-star recruit out of Purvis High in Purvis, Miss. was once committed to play for Florida State before flipping his commitment to be a part of Hugh Freeze’s signing class at Ole Miss in 2014. He was the No. 21 wide receiver in the nation for that class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
