Can't disagree.....with the season start this week I can honestly say that I've never been as hopeful in all the years past..... I am usually absorbed and reading everything I can find by this time of the year....like a kid on Christmas eve excited......this year it feels more like a kid before the first day of school....... I do not have much excitement about the season, either.  Freeze brought the Rebels up to a frenzy, and then let them down with a big crash.  This year we can only hope for some unexpected wins.  Actually I have lots of other things to do this Fall and will watch some games.  Southern Cal, Wisconsin, and Wyoming, in addition to Ole Miss will be the teams I watch.  The rest of the SEC, except LSU and Tennessee, can lose out as far as I am concerned.  It was good to see Alabama win championships since it meant a lot for the SEC, but now I am ready for them to start losing.  The SEC leadership has done nothing to help Ole Miss and only seems concerned about the big boys.  These teams, including Moo U (thanks to Lerry the Clown), can continue to cheat with no repercussions.

Well....the old axiom of "fool me once shame on you....fool me twice shame on me" comes to mind.  I've about decided this SEC variation of football is a lot like 'wrasslin'.....the script is predetermined and no one is allowed to change it... Heck even an old pig has enough sense to stay away from the trough if every time he approaches it he get hit in the head with a club.  There's a reason I don't go to casinos....a little bit of common sense tells you that they don't build those places on their losings.....

I just can't get excited any longer about approaching a season when I know that the deck is stacked and that you're not going to be allowed to change the status quo.....  I refuse to buy in emotionally so that I can receive my annual beating at the hands of the elite.....and pretend that the field is level.....  I'm sorta like that old pig that a way....  Give me a fair game and I'll gladly enter the ring....otherwise I'm just not that desperate....for a chance to draw to an inside straight....year after year after year after year......

Re: Sagarin Ratings Preseason Predictions for Ole Miss

All of us at this house are pretty fired up.  We are leaving for Oxford at noon Friday, having dinner at the Ravine,  bar hopping around the Square, sleeping till 8:00 and watching College Game Day, having brunch at some friends condo, and being in the Circle by 3:30.  Sure it will be hot, maybe wet, but at 70 I still get as excited as I did at 20. The Rebels are going to surprise a bunch of folks this year.  Hotty Toddy!
