Noon ET - Thoughts on Ole Miss Commitments

As of noon ET, Ole Miss seems to be in a holding pattern possibly waiting on some commits to make a decision.  The Rebels have 20 commitments and who really knows how many more can be signed, but 25 is the limit.

Most likely the Rebels are waiting on decisions by Tommy Bush and Charles Strong.  An offer has been extend to Tylan Knight who would most likely choose Ole Miss over ULL.

Now how much room is available with sanctions and tranfers?  The last few commitments will probably be a slow wait.

Re: Noon ET - Thoughts on Ole Miss Commitments

Y'all know considering everything that has gone on during this recruiting process, I am pretty satisfied with this class. Certainly it could have been better, but taking everything into account this is pretty good.  Looks like we will finish #22 or #23 and that isn't bad at all.

Re: Noon ET - Thoughts on Ole Miss Commitments

We failed on a couple of recruits that we needed badly and could promise playing time.  We are bleeding.  We will see if we are still bleeding next year.

Here are some potential Luke excuses:

  • I am recruiting the whole team instead of one position.[/*]
  • We have good depth, even though we were rebuilding every season that I was OL. [*]
  • There were not enough OLs available. [*]
  • We had other positions of need.[*]
  • The NCAA sanctions have hurt us.[*]
  • The carnival barker gone.[*]

Now, add everyone add some in this thread . . .

Those are different critters entirely...the OL guys are typically taller have 'fast feet' and long arms.....DL typically are shorter...slower.....  That's not to say a guy can't play both positions as they often do in HS but if they weren't recruited by anyone for OL I would suspect they're not prototypical OL types.,..

Re: Noon ET - Thoughts on Ole Miss Commitments

a top 30 class with 4 less spots to hand out, 2 months were we could not have recruits on campus and a major coaching change that took 3/4 of a year to sort out.  good grief at the  sandy vaginas in here
