Ole Miss received a commitment from 3-star linebacker Luke Knox on the eve of National Signing Day.Knox, the brother of Ole Miss tight end Dawson Knox, committed to the Rebels just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. He will sign his letter of intent on Wednesday.
The 6-4, 218-pound Knox is rated as the nation's No. 129 outside linebacker in the 2018 class. He is out of Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy, a program that has become a pipeline to Ole Miss.
"Honestly, it was just the family aspect of Ole Miss," Knox said Tuesday evening. Not only with my brother, but the coaching staff, as well. It's just different down there."
When Ole Miss offered Knox on Sunday shortly before he left campus, the possibility of a gray shirt existed. That is no longer the case."
Coach just called me and told me the scholarship will be effective immediately," Knox told the Ole Miss Spirit.Knox will be the fourth Brentwood Academy product on the Ole Miss roster this fall, joining his brother Dawson Knox, offensive lienman Bryce Mathews and long snapper Jack Propst.Knox is expected to report to Ole Miss at the end of May.
Knox is the 20th commitment in Ole Miss' 2018 class, which is currently ranked No. 28 in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite team Recruiting Rankings.
