So, a couple things going on.........

Ole Miss will NOT be hiring Austin Thomas to be GM. Bjork pulled his offer after Thomas kept waffling on his commitment to the position. Good for Ross.

Ole Miss is hiring Tyler Siskey as a position coach sometime next week. Everyone might remember him - he was the former Ole Miss staffer who went to Alabama just before the season started a few years ago and was right there in the press box giving them our plays:

This is good on both fronts. I don't want someone that doesn't want to be with us. Also, I think Sidney is alright.

Re: So, a couple things going on.........

Austin resigned from a good job at LSU and went to Tennessee for a similar job.  After he got to Tennessee, the job description did not suit him, so he left and flirted with Ole Miss on a job.  Apparently he did not seem comitted to the Ole Miss job, so Bjork took the deal off the table.  Also, why he was trying to work on getting the Ole Miss job, he was also putting out feelers at Texas A&M.

Jimmy Sexton is his agent and you have to wonder why someone in Austin's position would use Sexton as an agent.  Austin seems to think a lot of himself and appears to be a primadonna.  From his actions it appears that he would not have stayed at Ole Miss very long and taken the next job offer that became available.

Here is a quote from Ross Bjork on the hiring attempt of Austin:

"We crafted a position for him and it was very competitive," Bjork said. "We dialed into what we needed for the program and what he needed professionally. He committed to us several times throughout the process. When we got the waiver approved on Wednesday he started waffling and got wandering eyes from there. He said he was coming Wednesday night and last night and this morning but still was wavering on Ole Miss. We just pulled our offer. We want people who want to be Ole Miss, and we will move ahead with that as our goal."

In a matter of a could of months, Austin Thomas has most likely created bad will with LSU, Tennessee, and Ole Miss.  This certainly does not do much for his career reputation.  Whoever hires him will most likely be dealing with a self serving, egotistical, job hopper, who will take the next better job as soon as it is available.  Hopefully Ole Miss learned their lesson on the last self serving, egotistical person who was hired.  Face the facts Austin Thomas, Ole Miss does not want you, Tennessee does not want you, and you are not as important as you think you are.
