Time to move on from AK..........

I hate to say that, as I've been a defender of AK for awhile, but last night's game shows that the players are the ones calling the shots. The street ball that AK allows the team to play simply isn't gonna cut it any longer. I certainly appreciate everything he's done, but it's time to move on.

Re: Time to move on from AK..........

As of an article in the Clarion Ledger dated May 5, 2017, Vitter did not extend AK's contract.  At that time he had three years on his contract.  This would leave 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020.  That would give him a contract expiration in 2020.

At this time AK probably does not care because he can bank his money over the next few seasons.  He just needs to ensure that he does not get fired for show cause.  If his job is terminated, then their might be a chance that he gets some sort of nice payday from the termination.

Contract Termination: 2020
Base salary:  $1.925M per year plus incentives

Now another big question is who would coach at Ole Miss?  Ole Miss is not known as a basketball school.  There are pipe dreams that Michael White would return, but those are most likely illusions.  Most likely the Rebels will not be much of a factor in basketball, which has been proven by past history.

But we got 'usins' uh PUH-Villion...... That was all we needed to compete.....

l still like my plan better.....2 goals in a parking lot.  We would meet the NCAA requirements to have a 'program' and get about the same results.....  Pour that money into the cash cow....  And try to win championships in FB instead of merely being satisfied to 'compete'....Which to me translates into we're happy to be middle of the pack and win a few/lose a few....but put up a good fight in the loss....  That, to me, personifies the "We're lil Ole Miss" crowd....  Unfortunately they're in control (big fish....little pond) ....and we will NEVER get to Atlanta with that approach.

Re: Time to move on from AK..........

I like AK as well but with the talent on the team and the facilities, we should be doing better.
