as Colorado QB coach!!!
Kurt Roper was not retained by South Carolina following the 2017 regular season.
Former South Carolina offensive coordinator Kurt Roper may not have to wait much longer to land a new Power 5 gig. According to a report from Brian Howell of BuffZone.com, Roper is on the verge of being hired as the new quarterbacks coach at Colorado. Per the report, a source claims that a deal is likely in place and that the hiring could become official at some point this week.
In addition to his duties as the co-offensive coordinator at South Carolina, Roper also was the quarterbacks coach for the Gamecocks. He was relieved of his duties by South Carolina coach Will Muschamp at the conclusion of the 2017 regular season.
The Gamecocks went on to beat Michigan at the Outback Bowl without him.
The Buffaloes are coached by Mike MacIntyre, who just completed his fifth season at Colorado. During the 2016 season, MacIntyre led the Buffaloes to a 10-win season and a Pac-12 South title, but the program slipped to 5-7 during the 2017 season and missed postseason play.
Prior to his two-year stay at South Carolina, Roper spent time as an assistant at Duke, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ole Miss. He also spent the 2015 season as an offensive analyst for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL.

Not yet, anyway. When he gets fired again and Luke has an opening, you can almost be assured that he will be hired, even though his statistics as an OC are horrible. If this happens, Ole Miss fans need to demand more. Thank goodness Roper is going to Colorado.
