Ole Miss Basketball State of Affairs

The basketball season for Ole Miss could be the end of an era season considering that AK's contract was not extended by Vitter and the fact that Ole Miss is not expected to do well in their remaining games.  Red Cup Rebellion does a good analysis on the W/L projections for Ole Miss basketball projectioning the Rebels to finish 6-12 in SEC play.  Combined with the current record of 7-5 that equates to a 13-17 season that does not include a non-confernece game against Texas.

If the roundball Rebels faulter, you can almost be assured that the lynch mob will be out for AK.  Kennedy has been a decent coach at Ole Miss considering the circumstances.  Although Ole Miss is not known as a basketball school, AK generally won 20 games and made some post season appearances, mostly in the NIT.  Now the big question is could Ole Miss attract a decent basketball coach who might provide consistency, or will AK be allowed another year?

Would the GOB's be smart enough to consider Michael White? Would he come if offered?

I don’t think there’s any way White would leave Florida for Ole Miss.

I agree. Doubt he would leave Florida for us, unless he gets tired of his Dawg AD.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes
