Re: No spin on recruits Ole Miss is signing today....

Overall the Ole Miss signing class was surprising, considering the current circumstances.  Time will tell if these players can be developed by the coaching staff and if these players can become a cohesive team.

That is completely inaccurate regarding Corral.  I will say he exhausted as of his options which is how he ended up at Ole Miss.  Actually I am quoting it from the National beat guys when they did their story on him.  Follow the trail that led him to Ole Miss and you will quickly see he didn't choose Ole Miss.  Ole Miss is likely the only school willing to take him by the time he had run everyone else through the gamut.

I will say Corral had a open offer from A&M and Fisher..

I really don't know what you guys expected.  Considering everything that has happened in the past year, this is actually a little better than I anticipated.  Bow Hunter before you make a GOB comment, yes I am one and continue to support Ole Miss spiritually and financially and would appreciate you spending as much time researching the positives of our team as you do the negatives.

Are you saying that because he supposedly had no other options, he'll be a bust at Ole Miss? I'm just asking.

Re: No spin on recruits Ole Miss is signing today....

i am not buying that corral was crap no one wanted. in football where only like 1/3 of the teams out there have QBs that produce regularly and most teams don't have a QB ready to take over in case of injury without a drop off, there are a load of programs that would snatch him up.  Even if they only intended him to be a backup, there are 20 programs at any given time that would offer him a scholorship even if it is to sit behind another QB.

Re: No spin on recruits Ole Miss is signing today....

If you watch his film and read what other high school coaches that played against him say I don't think you would conclude that he can't play. The kid got in a fight with Wayne Gretskys son at a high school basketball game Gretsky told the school he would withhold his 200,000.00 $ a year donation to there athletic programs if Matt was not asked to leave the school. Thats were all this stuff comes from about him being a bad kid.

Pomouth I didn’t expect much of anything with this class.  Anyone who follows our program would tell you that.  The NCAA black cloud was reason enough then throw in the Freeze resignation and the Luke interim to full time hire.  Plenty of reasons to have a dud of a class.  I’m pleasantly surprised with the kids we signed.  What I don’t like and have issues with is the sunshine pumping regarding to “stealing this kid” or “flipping this kid” without the full context.   For the casual fan that is complete disservice and leads to unrealistic expectations for the future.  Any way you slice it we signed several kids yesterday simply because other schools backed away.  It was mildly mentioned by Longo in his post signing day remarks.  That is the recruiting methodology that Cut used and filled our roster full of 2 and 3 star kids who were not SEC level talent.  I’m just being upfront and calling it what it is.  Don’t really care if that is offensive to anyone else.  It’s the truth and we are going to end up at the same conclusion.  Some will just get there later than others.
I have always supported our school and our programs.  I am not a GOB or one of their supporters.  Why?  Simple.  50 years of mediocrity is plenty of proof and time to figure out that system is limiting and damaging to our school with their self serving mentalities.
In regards to positives as soon as I see them I will be happy to share them.  So far from the time that Luke was named Interim HC this has been a trainwreck no matter how much sunshine or spin gets placed on the actual results and the actual work.  Laughable bush league kinds of antics that will place us squarely back where you guys want it.  Average isn’t good enough for winners in anything.  I will never be ok with my school choosing to be average and that is what they have done.  Again I will be the first to admit I was wrong if and when Luke proves worthy of not being fired much less being promoted to HC.  However 14 years is a pretty dang good idea as to what he’s all about and what we can expect.

Not at all.  Chad Kelly was phenomenal at Ole Miss after every person on the earth that wasn’t an Ole Miss fan had written him off.
My point is that we didnt steal a kid that at least 3 other schools walked away from.  That isn’t supposedly.  That is fact.  Ole Miss in the end was the only school willing to take a chance on him.  The podcast I listened to didnt go into detail as to why Corral turned off so many suitors.  He has the tools and his ranking shows it.  Maybe he’s another Patterson with Daddy issues?   I have no idea.  But he did change schools at least once for reasons undisclosed as far as I have been able to find.  I would encourage you guys to listen to the National Network Recruiting podcast.  I think it was Rivals.  A buddy of mine text me the link to it.  They spent some time going through the Corral recruitment from the time he committed to USC to his eventual signing with Ole Miss.  I can assure you it was an alarmingly different perspective than the spin being put out by the TOS sunshine pumpers.  Don’t take my word for it.  Listen to the podcast yourself and let me know what you think.
