I have read all the posts concerning recruiting and I agree with most of you to a certain extent. First of all, no we haven't gotten the quality of recruits that an Alabama or Auburn has gotten and I know that. It will take years and maybe another coach to achieve that goal. On the other hand, we have already done better than I expected after the beat down the NCAA gestapo put on us. I do think that some of these guys will surprise us with their ability and it can't hurt that the attitude seems to have changes a little. Who knows, maybe we can win a few games and I don't think that it is such a bad thing to have just a little optimism for the future. Just my take on the matter.

We were getting the top players as well the last few years. End result has been aboutb what state has been able to accomplish during the same period. It just just depends on coaching at this point
This was going to be a last year and recruiting so my expectations of been met and if we can pull a few others will be exceeded. That’s just me I’m sure others will be less and booze

Say what you will this is much better than expected and as for Corral he had a lot more options than just going to Ole Miss.

I agree - I was expecting much worse and am pretty pleased overall with this class, considering the hell the program has been through. We have 6 spots still opening (I think) as well so we can address other areas needing fixing come Feb's signing.

Come On Guys give Matt a break he Loves Ole Miss and that is all that counts unless you count Wins and Losses.

Did any of you think that hiring one of the other "finalists" in the coaching search was going to lead to a better signing group than this one so far? Really? With the sanctions only announced 3 weeks ago it didn't matter who we hired unless it was Saban this class wasn't going to be great. The real test is what happens next year. If Luke isn't able to pull in a significant haul of Mississippi players and add other regional gets resulting in a top 25 class then it will be clear the path the program is on. I'll reserve judgement until then.

I would expect them to do that with our 5 year long black cloud.
That isn’t concerning to me. It’s the amount of fluff that likely won’t hold up to the rigors of real SEC competition when we need it most. I don’t recall this much fanfare since the cut years and that is alarming. Arguably telling. Spin spin spin.
It should be personal to all of us as investors into this program what is becoming of it.

I think with everything that has gone on at OM over the past 6-8 months, this is a pretty good haul so far.. Other than the loss Patterson, I really dont think transfers will hurt OM. Ta'amu will do fine at QB. My entire thought process of OM not letting this fall back to a start up program, was to keep the front line players from transferring. Sign a class that will end up ranking in the top 30-40 in the nation for this year. Have the pretty experienced team come out and go 8-3 next year and OM can get some momentum back. ( hopefully this staff learned some lessons this season they will not repeat in the future)

Do we not know how to recruit O-lineman? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we play piecemeal at that position at times this year due to injuries?
