Re: Deontay Anderson Highlight Reel

Why did he redshirt this year?  Was he injured?

Re: Deontay Anderson Highlight Reel

I have read repeatedly that he wasn't happy and wanted to redshirt this year hoping he could find somewhere else to go and still have that year to play.  Initially he was reportedly asking to redshirt so he could learn the defense and get stronger but that smoke soon cleared as to what his true intentions were.

Re: Deontay Anderson Highlight Reel

That is what I thought too but why didn't he just transfer this year and let this be his year to sit out?

Re: Deontay Anderson Highlight Reel

Quite possible he had no interest from other schools?

Re: Deontay Anderson Highlight Reel

I know he didn't do much of anything as a true freshman but hard to believe nobody else would want him given his high rating a year before.

It's almost more believable that Mars got in his ear a year ago and convinced him to bide his time until sanctions came down.

Re: Deontay Anderson Highlight Reel

He needs to leave our team sooner rather than later. It just did not work out here for him.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

CJ Hampton was highly sought after as well and just didn't pan out.  Anderson may be much the same.
That said I would put nothing past Mars, Rosebowl, Nutt, et al regarding doing things to damage our program.
