Pruitt was a decent hire for UT. Even though there was lots of controversy in the UT HC hire, their hire was better than the Ole Miss hire. Pruitt did submit a plan to Ole Miss for being the HC at Ole Miss. Allegedly he sent it through channels at the "super secret" meeting that consisted of former Ole Miss players.
Speaking of this meeting, why is not much said about the content of this meeting? You have to wonder if many of these players were either rallying around Luke or simply trying to get themselves inline for an assistant coaching position. Regardless, Pruitt wanted to be at Ole Miss, but was overlooked in favor of GOB candidate, Matt Luke.

One last thing to add on the UT hire, Fulmer at AD for the Vols was a good choice. He understands the importance of athletics and is mostly a popular candidate with the fan base. Fulmer is a no nonsense kind of person who will make sure good things happen in athletics.
Ole Miss has the total opposite where the AD is not trusted by the fan base. Both the AD and Chancellor appear to be puppets controlled by the Network of GOBs prevalent at Ole Miss.
