Re: Ole Miss lifts transfer restrictions

I think this is just stupid.  Ross and Luke are just setting things up to have built in excuses so they are not blamed for the one the field product.   You are going to be stuck with Luke for at least 5 years.

I have seen a lot of these situations in my life of NCAA sanctions and honestly, this is the worst I have seen in handled by anyone.

YOu make it as hard as possible for these players to transfer, you fight the NCAA tooth and nail.

What you are going to have here is a program that is going ot be like UAB, starting completely over. Mainly because the AD and Administration at OM what to play nice and act like there are doing the "right" thing.

BS, this is a big boy business. Heck, you see how tough Nick Satan makes it on even a 3rd string player that wants to transfer?

Why, so it the rest of the players do not even get in in their mind that transferring is a option!

Ole Miss has no idea how to fight.  In addition to allowing transfers, what about the investment that Ole Miss had in the players?  This is wasted money, just like the "coaching search".

Re: Ole Miss lifts transfer restrictions

Didn't you guys hear - hiring Luke would make sure the players wouldn't leave. /sarcasm off

The program is currently one big dumpster fire, and with Luke being named HC, Ross threw gasoline on top of that fire.

Just hoping that Luke, Ross, and Vitter are gone in a few years.

Why are we lifting restrictions?

Re: Ole Miss lifts transfer restrictions

The reality is quite simple.  It’s a built in excuse for Luke and this football program to suck for the next 10 years.  Ole Miss likely knows the players will win the appeal to play immediately elsewhere as well.  All part of a bigger and more devastating plan orchestrated by the NCAA, Mars, Nutt, Robertson, et al.
I will be honest I laughed when I first saw Rosebowl’s statement about a multi year bowl ban and players transferring in waves.  How prophetic he appears but he is only reporting what he is being told to report.
The latest Forde article should open some eyes.  Not for the misinformation and outright lies but the national narrative.  We are being painted as if we lied to recruits to get them to sign.  Anyone can see knows we signed a stellar 2016 class and that we have an opportunity to sign another stellar class in 2019 so how do you minimized those class impacts?  You allow the 16 kids to leave early and make a mockery of the program so less 2019 kids will want to join the program.  Sandwiched in between will be a mediocre at best product on the field in 2018 as evidence that we are at the bottom and digging.

Fits the pattern we've seen from our OL coach for years.....Under performance of his OL was always because they were young or injured.....But just wait until he get all his guys in place and they are healthy....then you'll see bulldozer type OL play......and we're still waiting................

THAT is exactly what the "We're just Little Ole Miss" had in mind.....they are perfectly happy with that....after all they're in charge and they 'be' SOMEbody.....BIG men in Oxford.....as they thump their chests at the country club....

Yep....and OM has no intent to participate in that business.....

If I wanted to destroy an athletic program I would look at OM as the poster boy to copy from.....I really don't see how OM could have done more damage to the program unless they just shut it down.....  SO...the downplaying and de-emphasis seems purposeful to me.....

OM doesn't want to be in the spotlight and have to live up to the role of leader as that takes work....it's much easier to live under the oaks in the grove and eat fried chicken and wash it down with bourbon and then saunter over to the stadium to watch yet another dutiful thumping at the hands of the SEC schools that WANT to win.....
