OM players seeking transfer

Tre Nixon joins the others.  I thought he was going to be a good speed WR.  If you count Shea, that's 4, non-senior players so far.

Re: OM players seeking transfer

Sounds as if Thomas Mars has found a new career since leaving Walmart.  How much money is there for representing underclass Rebels wishing to transfer from Ole Miss.  Nutt could pay for the Apology Tour,  Who pays for these guys?

Re: OM players seeking transfer

Mars will probably represent them in the hopes that they become pro athletes.  At that time he will seek payment.   On the other hand, there could be some anti-Ole Miss backers who are paying him to represent these players.  So much for Luke holding the team together.

Morning Catfish , I thought this was the whole reason the beloved Luke was retained as head coach. Not only did we get a lazy coach , players will leaving.

Re: OM players seeking transfer

I think at least some of the kids want to get the hell away from the mess at OM. Who could really blame them? I am not upset with the players who want to leave. Some no doubt were lied to. I am mad as hell at Freeze and the others who got us in this mess that will take years to straighten out if ever.

Re: OM players seeking transfer

Why do you need a lawyer to transfer? It's not often schools block transfers -- unless they want to transfer with no restrictions on where they can transfer to.

If it's wanting to be eligible immediately without having to sit a year that's not Ole Miss' call.

Just seems to me paying to retain a lawyer for this is kind of a waste of money, whoever is paying for it.

Re: OM players seeking transfer

When the 2016 class was recruited, we didn't even have the second NOA yet. That was the one that caused most of the damage.

As for Shea Patterson, there is a lot of smoke that he wants to stay at Ole Miss, but his Dad is calling the shots and wants a transfer. Who knows? At this point, I don't see how any of the players who have announced intentions to transfer or snuggled up to Mars can be effective at Ole Miss, even if their transfer requests are denied by the NCAA.

There's another issue here. Luke has said he doesn't think the team was tough enough under Freeze. He said he's going to "change the culture" in that regard. Maybe some of these players don't want to be a part of that. If not, we sure as hell don't need them.

Add Van Jefferson to the list.  We need to put our foot down and keep the restriction on allowing players to transfer within the SEC.  these underclass man should also have to sit out a year if they transfer.  We should fight like heck but we won't.

I agree - but we caved in and said they could go anywhere. As far as having to sit out a year - that's not in our hands. That's up to the NCAA.
