That's why, after 30 years of subscribing to the Spirit I left......I just couldn't put up with how they became, IMO, the mouthpiece for the administration..... I'd like to know exactly who these GOB's are. I'm not saying they don't exist, but nobody ever will share names. 

Start with Robert Khayat and work outwards.  Pete Boone still has multiple tentacles in place.  Hunter Carpenter is solely behind the fire AK crowd and for getting in the ear of Vitter with a freaking anti AK powerpoint of all things.  They are the same group of folks who were so pissed off about Orgeron but are now selling Luke like essential snake oil.  If you just sit back and watch they will quickly align themselves behind the narrative that supports their existence.  The ones who are so quick to offer excuses for mediocrity and then hammer guys who question their narrative as being anti Ole Miss or whatever.  
I'm confident you know some of them Semper.  Ross asked me the same question earlier this week.  He didn't like my answer and its a great cover fire response because of the clandestine approach in which so many of them work.  I gave him actual names that I won't share here for confidentiality sake and he was silent.  Truth hurts.  I'm sure he was expecting Bobby Dunlap or Dicky Scruggs. That's the funny part.  Most of the GOB's only have political influence and their monetary influence or threats are mostly empty but they have lived an entire life profiting from the system of corruption so they think they have the deep pockets they represent.  
 

Not at all. You totally misunderstand their agenda.  They would prefer Ole Miss to have half the folks there as that gives them free reign of more space.  Fewer people in the grove means more room for them.  Fewer people competing for the things they hold dear means they have less work to do to continue their preferrred way of life.  No different than a country club going in the red and needing to add new members to make money.  Then as the membership grows the old members bitch and raise hell becaue more guys are on the course crowding their space.  Sitting in the restaurant during meal time, etc. 
these guys prefer access over success and relevance.  Why is that you say?  See above.  Success and relevance drives up attendance and attendance brings competition for their preferred status.  they have to do more to maintain preferred status.  They want the rest of the free world to fall in line behind them and never challenge them. 
When thinking of it in that vein like I told Semper earlier today I’d bet you can identify some in your own circles.  It is not so much the actual names but the fact that they are calling the shots.  They all need to be run off so why worry about naming one or two?
