Another Nightmare Scenario?
Since Sumlin is gone from TAMU, Noel Mazzone is now available. Luke played for Mazzone when Mazzone was on Tuberville's staff. Lingo was a bust, but he did have some break away plays and put up huge numbers on offense. Mazzone would be another horrible hire and add to the Ole Miss nightmare. It seems from the recent hire that the Ole Miss administration is content on being mediocre. They do not want to win, play for championships, or participate in a New Year's Day Bowl. Hopefully, I am wrong.

I just listened to the Hotty Toddy Hotline podcast from Sunday Night. They were in the process of naming Luke when it was being recorded. They had a guest on who said that the list of potential assistants looked like an Ole Miss Alumni gathering. Also said Longo didn't have any Ole Miss blood so he was probably gone.
Welcome to the roller coaster. It could well be all downhill.

I was told just now that there would be no coaching changes. Guess we'll see if that's true. Longo's offense is abysmal in the 2nd half once DC's see the 8 freaking plays that are run.

Well....I'm betting many of the same Mazzone Mafia who tried to undermine Ed were behind the Luke hire....With your scenario they hit a home run....they could get Mazzone back and place him carefully to take over when ML fails.....and FINALLY they get Mazzone as HC..... How special would THAT be for them? Talk about doubling down.....

I am a realist and analyze events in true reality. Think about the current events and this scenario could become a reality. If Sumlin does not take Mazzone with him, then Mazzone will be unemployed. Now who wants Mazzone? You can be assured that Mazzone has already made contact with Luke in some form or fashion.
