Talking about changing the fan's attitude........

I was thinking what a complete reversal of attitudes this has caused...

1. You have a mentally and emotionally numb fanbase that has taken a beating for years.
2. The fanbase is just anxious for the season to be over and to move forward by hiring a real HC and finding out the NCAA penalties.
3. Ole Miss beats MSU after their starting QB goes down. This gives the Ole Miss fans some excitement after listening to sh*t from State fans for years. Even though Luke almost gave the game away because he doesn't understand how to use timeouts nor had he ever heard of what an onside kick is. But regardless, the fanbase finally could have some sort of joy.
4. MSU then loses their coach. Ole Miss fans laugh and get to poke fun at State for a change.
5. Suddenly, the fanbase finds out that Bjork lied to their faces and Luke is being named the HC, after the fans have wanted Luke fired for YEARS already.
6. Fanbase is completely divided with half drinking the kool-aide about a "real Rebel' being coach, while the other half is completely dejected and morale is at an all time low.

Pisses me off that for a few days I felt "okay" with the program and hopeful for moving forward. And then Bjork comes in and f*cks things up and does the unthinkable and sets the program back a decade.

State and Ole Miss remind me of the Spy vs Spy in the old Mad magazine.

Re: Talking about changing the fan's attitude........

If Bjork leaves you can almost be assured that Walker Jones will become the AD.  This action will allow the current GOBs and new generation of GOBs to remain in power.  Now is a time where Ole Miss fans who want to win have to face the fact that there are GOBs who would rather have accessibility to the program instead of have a winning program.  It appears that Ole Miss will never be relevant again and any type of championship in football is totally out of the question.  Atlanta will be a pipe dream and New Year's Day Bowls will become a delusion.

Saves me from buying season tickets for next year.

Re: Talking about changing the fan's attitude........

The GOBs, personal friends, and Grove socialites better get ready to ante up because both season ticket sales and donations may be down.  This hiring has caused even more division among the Ole Miss fans, but then that was part of the plan of the NCAA and the other schools who started the witch hunt against Ole Miss.

Re: Talking about changing the fan's attitude........

I bought it hook line and sinker while many of the guys here and elsewhere told me otherwise.  I'm just hardheaded enough to make me look mostly retarded at times.
That said our only saving grace is that the GOB numbers are getting lower each year as are they donations.  Now their level of influence has never changed because they have stashed away soldiers everywhere in our admin.  The only way we can undue this bullshit and permanently move forward is to call them out for what they are and put them back in their sandboxes.
There is enough money and support to overcome this total disaster.  It may take some time but the end result will be well worth the efforts if we want to see Ole Miss succeed and be relevant again.

One concern is the NGOGBs (New Generation of Good Ole Boys).  They are setting up tent to take the place of the old guard.  Because they feel the power, they feel entitled.  It will take a big effort and a lot of people to clean up this mess.  Whatever happened to Forward Rebels?  It appears they got bought off after some of their demands were met.
