It is amazing that Ross lost this chance to hire a quality coach with solid Power 5 experience. Luke is a political hire and was probably planned by the GOB since last year. Ole Miss used a smoke screen by hiring a search firm. Unfortunately for Ole Miss, the team will be stuck in medocrity for the next decade. There will not be much excitement during the football season or recruiting season. Luke is a lazy recruiter and only recruits hard when he is forced to do so. Most likley he will not sign any five star recruits, very few four star recruits, and a bunch of two and three stars. Oh, and look out for the return of Curt Rooper to Ole Miss. Ole Miss football was fun, now it is just somehting that happens. Fans can blame Hugh Freeze for this fiasco. He created the good teams, quit coaching, and now put Ole Miss in the mess they are in now. You can be assured that all the other SEC schools, especially Moo U, is very happy with this hire. Speaking of Moo U, look for them to make a decent hire that will elevate their program. Oh, well WAOM.

A source familiar with Ole Miss' search tells @rebelgrove Ole Miss will take the interim tag off Matt Luke and make him the Rebels' permanent coach. We haven't confirmed that but we are comfortable with the sourcing.

Luke has players in his corner because he lets them do as they please...... no discipline...... EX: MSU game with bad behavior and senseless penalties..... if Luke is named coach we will have an undisciplined and poorly coached team for years.. If Bjork cant do better under the "circumstances" than he needs to go too

One thing this hire could show is that, once again, no one wanted the job at Ole Miss. Ole Miss was turned down by anyone they approached and few approached Ole Miss for the job. One day people who are not wearing red and blue glasses will realize that Oxford is not the greatest place in the world. There are other cities and schools that are as good or better, so this is where coaches want to be.

Well, this fan and alumni won't be spending any more hard earned money to support this shit show. I'm done, especially since we are destined to make miserable coaching and assistant coaching decisions. Maybe we can move to the Sun Belt Conference and compete on that level.
