You can almost be assured that if Mullens goes to Florida, Moo U will make a better hire than Ole Miss. Ole Miss has had three months to find a coach, yet they find themselves behind the eight ball and are considering a coordinator and someone that no one else wants. As a coordinator this coach could not get the job done. As a HC he did okay, but lost some crucial games and almost lost to Moo U. There is a big political push for Luke to be coach. The people at Ole Miss want someone who they can access. They don't seem to care about results.

MSE doesn't have impending NCAA sanctions looming. Like it or not, that is having an effect on the search.

The NCAA sanctions are just a big excuse for Ole Miss. Yes, the sanctions may be a hindrance, but a good coach who wants to make more money, build a team, and not have lots of pressure would take the job. Now when Luke is hired and Ole Miss has consistent 6-6 seasons, every one will blame it on NCAA sanctions. The reason Moo U might get a better coach is because they want to win and they want a home run hire. If Bjork does not make a good hire for HC, get ready for another decade plus of mediocrity. Meanwhile, other SEC schools make good hires and surpass Ole Miss in football.

How is it just an excuse? At other schools, a new coach will know what he stepping into. At ole miss, they don't know if the school is going to have another year bowl ban, if there's going to be more scholarship reductions , Etc. But if you think it's "just and excuse" that's fine, it's your opinion and I respect your right to it, but I completely disagree -- it isn't an excuse, it's a reality Bjork is dealing with.

This whole "we're behind the 8 ball" stuff is 100% untrue. I wish folks will stop repeating that nonsense. Bjork has kept things very close to his vest, and by all indications, Vitter is keeping his sorry ass out of the hiring process. Not a single damn coach worth hiring would dare to take the job until the NCAA penalties are known. It's just like any other job - if you are offered a job by a company under FBI investigation, you'd be nuts to take the job without knowing about the stability of that company.
Relax folks, the sky isn't falling, 9-11 wasn't an inside job by Bush, we really did land on the moon, etc... Just because Bjork isn't talking doesn't mean he's sitting around with his thumb up his arse.

Someone texted me about Mullen. Said his buyout was supposedly being negotiated. Said he was their 4th choice. I guess that means Frost must be going to Nebraska or staying put? Kelly was obviously UF's #1. Frost, I assume was #2. Who was #3 if Mullen is #4?
