Ross Bjork Expects NCAA Punishments Soon
The dark cloud hanging over the Ole Miss with respect to the NCAA’s investigation may be finally clearing very soon.
Ole Miss athletic director Ross Bjork told ESPN’s Laura Rutledge on Thursday that he’s expecting to find out the NCAA’s punishment by the beginning of next week at the earliest, and no later than in two weeks.
The school has already self-imposed a bowl for this season, which it announced back in February, when Hugh Freeze was still the school’s coach. Freeze was let go in July following reports of phone calls to an escort service. The allegations against Ole Miss that are the focus of the NCAA investigation were unrelated to that; those allegations include alleged payments to recruits, other impermissible benefits, and fixing test scores.

As I recall he also said we'd hear well before the Egg Bowl......but that came and went. This time, though, he's nailed it.....sometime in the next 2 weeks.....which gets to the maximum time of 12 weeks posted on the NCAA site....
I don't like this guy one little bit..... If I saw him coming across a used car parking lot I'd run.....

I'm a RB fan. Love the way he has handled this coaching search by keeping all of us in the dark about what is going on. First time in the history of our program that has been accomplished and is well worth noting.
Regarding the NCAA ruling what do you expect him to say? He was going off the timeline he was given and the question is asked every single day so how else would you suggest he answer it?
It was well established that Ole Miss thought we would get an answer the week of the ULaLa game but it didn't happen. Initially the forde/wolken reports of the decision coming post Egg Bowl was scoffed at by everyone but turns out they were getting inside intel as they have been all along.

I think we all just want to move on. There's probably nobody that wants this past us more than Ross. I can't imagine the frustration to continue to deal with this post season and during a coaching search. All I can hope for is a home-run HC hire.

Regarding the NCAA ruling what do you expect him to say?
If you don't have facts to comment with one shouldn't feel compelled to talk....especially when you are the spokesman for the entire AD..... A "we've been told it COULD take up to 12 weeks would have been the thing to say...." Delving in wishful thinking does not speak well of management.

There's probably nobody that wants this past us more than Ross.
I'm sure he does....this whole cluster flop way of handling this fiasco is mostly on his watch..... He wouldn't be working for too many 'civilian' organizations for long after overseeing a train wreck that cost millions and millions......

I have some issues with Bjork but then I compare him to Boone and Schaeffer and I am glad we have Bjork.

I'll agree he's an step up.....but going from bottom rung to middle of the pack won't get us to Atlanta.....
