Local news here in Memphis showed a clip of Brown being interviewed right after the game. He said the team loves Luke and they will be very unhappy if he is not named the permanent HC." I guess that sentiment is to be expected. I know it means nothing. Just stating what was said.

If Bjork lets the players influence this hire, he needs to be run out of town as fast as possible. Players will most always be attached to their current coach, but this is a hire that will affect our football program years after their playing careers have ended.

Ole Miss generally gives in to the demands of the students. Now they could give in to the demands of the players. Would someone please pass me a banana?

That's just emotions and typical of players to say that. I think we even had players that said they wanted to keep Nutt as the season went on in 2011.
BUT does keeping Luke become necessary if we get a 2nd year bowl ban?

There are no scenarios where we keep Matt Luke as HC.

Yepper.....I agree. That's what has me worried..... I'm not a Bjork fan at all.....just something about him that says 'used car salesman' to me..... Charming to a fault....PR persona..... Just a little too slick for my tastes..

Johnny I think you have RB read completely wrong. I know some guys that know him well and I've not gotten anything remotely close to that from them regarding their dealings with him. I also have a friend who knows him personally well before he arrived at Ole Miss. Their wives are best friends and grew up together. He will be the first to tell you that RB is a stand up dude. However he will also tell you that their relationship has not yielded any influence or special privileges/intel, etc for my friend. I like the sound of it. I've met RB a few times since I've been back home and I have had nothing that was alarming to me either.
I'm usually the first one to throw up red flags when something doesn't look, smell or feel right.

I don't think Luke will get the job. I commend him on his ability to keep the players playing all season but we can count a few losses (Arkansas, A&M, Cal, and LSU to some part) on bad coaching decisions. He would be a great HC at a smaller school. The SEC is not a coach's training ground.

Friendships are one thing.....competence is another. The way this whole thing was handled smacks of incompetence.....I've been in senior management for many years and I have seen my share of glad handing charmers that get by on personality instead of results....

Vitter has constantly tried to interfere with Bjork. Bjork is a damn good AD. The problem we have is with Vitter's pathetic ass.
