In an effort to put together a "dream team" of a coaching staff, some former Ole Miss coaches along with some other college greats have been assembled for the next coaching staff. What do you think? Is there anyone you would replace or other recommendations for a coach or coaching position? 🙃
HC – Tyrone Willingham
OC – David Cutcliffe
OL - Gerry Dinardo
QB – Houston Mutt
RB – OJ Simpson
WR/TE – Derek Dooley
DC – Joe Lee Dunn
DL/DE – Mike Dubose
DB - Tommy Tuberville
LB – Ron Zook
Special Teams – Joker Phillips
Head Strength & Conditioning Coach – Charlie Weiss

Ah, youth! It can't help not knowing what came before their time....
Steve Sloan....long forgotten but was the posterboy for hottest young coach in America.......
You could plug him in at either OC or HC....

Wow. That has to be the worst possible list of names conceivable.

There were some other coaches who applied for coaching positions. Although they did not make the cut on the staff, they might be considered for admin positions, or any coaching vacancies that might arise. These coaches are as follows:
Mike Shula - QBs
Ray Goff - QBs
Bill Callahan - QBs
These QB coaching candidates were beaten out by Houston Mutt because of his past connections to Ole Miss and his exemplary development of QBs.
Howard Schnellenberger – WR/TE
Schnellenberger's age was a big factor on him not being hired along with his pipe smoking habits. Also Dooley has a coaching legacy plus SEC experience.
Brady Hoke – LBs
Hoke lost out to Ron Zook, who has SEC experience.
Lovie Smith - LBs
Smith also lost out to Ron Zook, who has SEC experience.
Mike Price
Price was considered for HC. The deal killer for him was that he wanted to bring Hugh Freeze back on board because he thought they could have some "really fun and successful" recruiting trips together.

UPDATE ON DREAM TEAM COACHING STAFF: It is being reported that Mike Dubose will be in charge of Secretary's Day.
