What did Vitter do that cost us a big time recruit?

He refused to extend AK's contract, even though Bjork was wanting to do so. So the recruit thought that AK might not be around and refused to sign with us. Vitter is a cancer.

I hope Ole Miss can find a 'cure' for cancer!

Vitter was probably directed by some moo uer on the IHL that he needs to keep the Ole Miss basketball team down. Some group like the Forward Rebels group that was instrumental in getting rid of Pete Boob, needs to determine what it would take to get out of the IHL and hire an Ole Miss Board of Trustees.  The benefits of being in the IHL and out of the IHL should be weighed.  There might be enough donations and SEC money to offset what is given to Ole Miss by the State of Mississippi.  Undoubtedly, the IHL will hold Ole Miss back whenever they can so that their schools, Moo U, USM, etc will not let Ole Miss get way ahead of them.  It is time for the Rebels to secede from the IHL!!!

It takes balls to do some of those things; something our Administration sadly lacks.

I'm still trying to understand exactly why it is Dan Jones was fired....he may not have been perfect, but he was better than Vitter.

The firing of Dan Jones was a political move by the IHL to test the fortitude of Ole Miss.  At the time Jones was the best Chancellor of he major Universities and was not a puppet of the IHL.  Of course, Ole Miss caved in and allowed Jones to be fired.  Jones was a decent Chancellor, and much better than Vitter.  At least Jones had some roots to Ole Miss via UMMC.

There is no doubt that the IHL is not a friend of Ole Miss.  Why would alumni from Moo U or Southern, schools that genuinely hate Ole Miss, allow Ole Miss to do anything that might be positive for themselves and allow Ole Miss to surpass their schools.  Ole Miss needs to do whatever it takes to GET OUT OF THE IHL ASAP.
