Did everyone else notice in the NCAA's reply that they stated that the University did not meet exemplary cooperation? If that is the case, then I don't see how a University could meet that standard. I'm hoping the COI will see things differently, but as it stands, it looks like the NCAA could care less about anything that the University has done during the investigation and they are going to go for the jugular at this point.

Other schools did not cooperate and simply told the NCAA to take a hike. For instance look at the Scam Newton incident. He was paid to play at Auburn and other schools admitted to have been in the bidding war for his services. Did much happen to Auburn or any of these other schools? NO!!!
Ole Miss seemed to have provided too much cooperation which seems to have led to the witch hunt conducted by the NCAA. The Rebels must prove their case to the COI, but it does not seems good. It would not be surprising to see this whole matter drag on another year.

I still can't fathom how both Vitter and Bjork survive this. They both completely mishandled the entire NCAA ordeal and need to be shown the door, as well as anyone else that was involved in this.

Did anyone expect the investigators to do anything that would help us? It'll be up to the committee to decided if we were cooperative or not. Barney lying didn't help. He's one person in the IPF I never talked to. He had a big mouth and he was most of the "insiders" leak. He even let Brad Lott into practices and gave him sideline passes to games. Ross put a stop to that as soon as he learned who Brad Lott was.

As much as the Admin talked about Exemp. Cooperation, how did the NCAA say they didn't?

That's what baffles me. I can't find a link, but I thought I saw a statement where the NCAA did say at one point that the University was cooperating fully and such. Perhaps this is due to the rumors of investigators getting angry at Freeze and it becoming personal.

Actually I think Bjork has been the one who has kept us together. You need to remember Compliance is handling this, not the athletic department. Compliance reports to the Chancellor, not the AD. The blame lies with Tyner. He has been the one Vitter is listening to. The original firm we hired to help us recommended we don't cooperate. Ross agreed with them. Tyner told Vitter we needed to cooperate and we did. Tyner is the one who made Cannon Motors let the NCAA see their records. So that original firm told us to take a hike. Bjork is the best one we have in this mess. without him we'd really be in trouble.

Thanks for that information. In that case, I take back what I said about Bjork. Isn't Tyner the one that was jockeying for a job with the NCAA?

I wouldn't be surprised though if Vitter throws Ross under the bus. Vitter is disliked by many and he knows it. At practices Ross will talk to people. Vitter avoids people. His whole demeanor resembles a dead man walking. He has admitted to people that he screwed up with the Andy Kennedy deal.

I just hope AK doesn't end up leaving over it. The job he has done over the years, with all of the obstacles, has been taken for granted. It is good to hear that he admits he screwed up by not extending his contract. Hopefully that'll change after next season. We should have a very good team this coming season.
