I'm not a Luke fan, but if Luke wins out in the midst of all the NCAA hullaballoo, he deserves a one year contract in my opinion - - - with a stipulation that we hire a new defensive staff. So, this is all mute, because I don't see us winning out.

Think about this guys- we could easily be 7-3 right now if we hadn't absolutely crapped the bed against Arkansas and Cal. 

Luke can NOT be our coach going forward but in afraid that "he fought hard during a period of turmoil" will be enough to get him hired full time. 

I honestly expect that we lose both of our remaining games.  I do suppose there is a chance we beat A&M in a shootout and a VERY MINUTE chance we beat state if they crumble after that tough loss last night.  Even then, they could sleepwalk to a win against us with a tecmo bowl sized play sheet of running plays.  But things will get very interesting with regards to Luke if we get to 6 wins. 

Sadly, I think it may be in the best interest of Ole Miss if we get blown out these last two games and clean house on staff.  I would love to pull for us and still expect our admin would do the right thing, but........WAOM

I really don't see us hiring Matt as the new head coach. I like Matt and he's done a great job holding together a team that should have just folded (like Nutt's last team). He's just not ready to be HC at this level yet. Ross is looking for a home run hire and one that has proven capability to recruit, coach and hire quality assistants. I know the "boosters" may want Matt but for once I think we have an AD that will look past that crap and hire the best candidate he can get. I sure hope so. We will find out for sure in just a few weeks.

I'm telling y'all --- I look for MSU to blow us out in Starkville Thanksgiving Night ---- y'all see how Fitzgerald ran on Alabama..how is our defense gonna stop him? -- and that will likely put a big damper on Luke's chances.
We may not beat TAMU either --- so 2 consecutive season ending losses are certainly possible.


From what I can tell most Ole Miss folks appreciate what Luke has done this year but aren't clamoring for him to get the job permanently. Y'all must be seeing and hearing things I'm not...if you're seeing it on the Scout board, I for one don't think that's the most objective source when it comes to Ole Miss; and that's putting it kindly.

If Luke is hired, look for a potential OC hire in Cutt Roopper.  Remember he developed Eli as a QB.
He also pissed off enough schools during recruiting that they requested that he NEVER return to their campus.
