Definitely not surprised as it seems that it’s normal for corruption there for decades. But wow. And the DA doesn’t care about anyone

The leadership in Jackson started dwindling in the 90s and now it is full of corruption. The leaders to not know how to take care or enhance their community, just how to stuff money in their pockets. As a result the tax base of Jackson has dwindled, many people have moved to areas bordering Jackson, crime has increased, and Jackson is no longer the fun and unique place it was before Y2K.

It’s sad to see. I was born in Jackson in 1968. But we lived in Pearl until I finished the 4th grade. I remember going to Battlefield Park in Jackson to play as a kid and loved it. Played baseball in those fields through the boys club until Pearl started their own.
We then moved to Neshoba County for a year before moving to Texas.
It’s sad to see that park now, when I go to Florence or Philadelphia to visit family or go to Florida to visit family, I always drive by the park and see homeless, drug dealers, etc in the area.
