Man, he sure has it tough at Indiana. Little football school with a load of big teams on his schedule. He is 3-5 but he has played every team except penn state to the wire. 1-2 more years and he will have Indiana in the middle of some interesting things if he stays
I would not mind one bit giving him a look. Good recruiter and was the key to our defense. When he left, so did our stout defense. He has an uphill climb at Indiana so why not come on over to ole miss where the tools you have to work with goes much deeper

I like that idea more than any number of retreads talked about so far! He knows what he'd be getting into on the front end.

The problem is, since Ole Miss is going to have scholarship reductions to deal with (and maybe a 2 year Bowl ban) he'd have arguably a tougher uphill climb here.

Hell NO! Tom Allen is the beginning of why we have the talent gaps on defense we have now! His inability to close on several high end recruits killed us on Signing Day. He was always the bridesmaid but never the bride for several big time critical recruits. To put it nicely he absolutely sucks as a recruiter. I don't even buy him being a good position coach much less HC. The Big 10 is bad this year outside of a couple of elite teams. They have played hard and what you see is what it will be at Indiana. They will struggle to become bowl eligible.
His ties to Freeze are instant issues also.

Ole Miss needs to hire someone with no previous ties to the school, administration, or GOB. Tom Allen was good a good coach when he was here, but as mentioned by RebelBowhunter, he was not an effective recruiter.
