This was a big win for Ole Miss — I understand PSU had some opt outs but Ole Miss wasn’t exactly 100% either
The coaching staff did a really good job of in game adjustments - offense and defense — I’ll be honest; after our very first possession (very quick 3 and out) I thought we were in for a long day
I think this was probably the biggest “name” opponent for Ole Miss in a bowl game since Oklahoma back in ‘99 — Maybe Nebraska in ‘02 and both of those were Independence Bowls — this was a big opponent on a big stage
Ole Miss fans showed up — both fanbases traveled really well…but I honestly believe Ole Miss had the louder, more involved crowd even before OM really took the game over
Mercedes Benz Stadium is a really nice venue — I’d even say top notch
Nice to get a bowl win again, after the past 2
In the NY6 era, Ole Miss has been to 4 NY6 bowls which I think only UGA and Alabama are the only SEC teams with more.
Just an all around great wrap up to the 2023 football season
