REPORT: Ole Miss Rebels Set to Host OL Gerquan Scott on Official Visit - Transfer Portal Tracker
NOV 29 IN-STATE OFFICIAL VISIT Southern Miss offensive lineman Gerquan Scott is reportedly set to visit Ole Miss this weekend, according to On3. Scott was offered by the Rebels this week, according to his social media, and he is currently listed as a redshirt junior.
A native of Mobile, Ala., Scott played his prep ball at Davidson H.S., and he was also a teammate of current Rebels defensive lineman Cedric Johnson.
According to his posts on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, Scott has garnered interest from multiple programs around the country, including Auburn, South Carolina, Colorado, Vanderbilt and others.
NOV 28 TWO REBELS DEPART Two Ole Miss Rebels announced their intention to enter the transfer portal this week.
The first player, Isheem Young, is technically no longer a part of the Ole Miss program. Head coach Lane Kiffin revealed that information following his team's win over Texas A&M earlier this season, and he had previously noted that Young did not suit up against Vanderbilt due to disciplinary issues.
“I got one more year left of [college football]," Young posted. "I’ll be in the portal after I graduate in a couple weeks.”
"Isheem's not part of our program," Kiffin said after the Texas A&M game. "We wish him the best. We're just trying to get the guys ready that are here."
The second Rebel to announce his intent to transfer is freshman tight end Jayvontay Conner. Conner will have four years of eligibility remaining after being redshirted in the 2023 season.
"I will be entering my name into the transfer portal as a Redshirt Freshman with 4 years of eligibility left," Conner via X (formerly known as Twitter). "Thank you Oxford."
