Or could Louisville still win today but then lose to Florida State in their conference championship game?

It would help — but from everything I’ve seen/read a lot has to happen for a NY6….but if that happened and FL should beat FSU….it may not be as long a shot as coming into today
But honestly — if we don’t, the Citrus Bowl is a pretty good landing spot

It helps. KY with the win

I was looking at projections and saw Tulane projected for a NY6 bowl. Their schedule is garbage. We are the only ranked team they played. They had some close games against very weak teams. Glad Louisville lost.

I think they are the highest ranked member of the Big 5 or whatever they are calling those lesser conferences and therefore automatically qualify for a NY6. One of those rules written to prevent discrimination that then ends up penalizing better teams in situations like this.

Neal said today that he thinks the Citrus Bowl is probably where Ole Miss will go — but did say the Cotton Bowl would like to have Ole Miss and things “could happen”
One bowl projection has Ole Miss in the Cotton vs Texas….I wouldn’t like that matchup for us…

I didn’t realize they would be guaranteed a spot under those circumstances. Will really stink if we get left out with Tulane, Penn State, and Missouri going in ahead of us.

Do the NY 6 bowls have to take the top ranked teams or could they take us over Missouri or Penn State if we all had 10-2 records?

That’s a good question — I think it depends on conference tie ins, rankings, strength of schedule and other factors
What May hurt Mizzou is Kansas St lost last night and that may knock them out of the top 25 — leaving Mizzou with only one top 25 win (UT) — Ole Miss currently has 2 top 25 wins (LSU and Tulane)
