The decision surely wasn’t based on last night’s 52-10 blowout loss of MSU.

This is from TAMU’s Rivals site — sounds like fanboy sour grapes to me though
The final straw, sources say, was the loss to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss last weekend. The frustration of losing to three nationally-ranked opponents (Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss) was frustrating, but losing to a coach that is perceived to enjoy mocking A&M's struggles on the field was too much.

Talking heads are already throwing Lane's name in as a possible target. I just don't see that one happening.

You can almost be assured that TAMU will have their sites set on Kiffin. If they can afford a $75M buyout, then they can pay another coach's buyout plus provide them a high salary. It is crazy that TAMU does not at least give Fisher a couple of more years to right the ship, but then, in today's world, fans want results now.

Hearing it's a negotiated buyout and will be somewhere around $117 million (got include all of the other staff). Ridiculous amount of money.
