Re: Trade y’all

As for Pittman. They just gave him a contract extension and raise this summer, which was laughable

He was 19-17 at the time 10-16 in the sec.

Now, 3 1/2 years in he is 21-22 and 10-20 in the sec

People say all the improvement he has done since Morris was fired. But Morris took over after Bielema left him a team with 44 scholarship guys. Morris recruited the majority of starters stil on this team. 14 starters including the qb.

He has had 3+ years and hasn’t gotten bettee players and hasn’t win crap.

Pittman is a fraud and baby. Cried 2 weeks ago at his PC that he was quitting social media because internet people were being mean to him.  lol. Hey titty babby, just don’t go on there.  Do you have to cry and announce it.

I hope the keep him for years.

Jimbo Fisher contract buyout: How much Texas A&M owes if he's fired

© Provided by CFB-HQ on FanNation

Despite playing some of the best defense in college football this season, it wasn't enough for Texas A&M in Saturday's game against Tennessee, an eighth-straight loss on the road for head coach Jimbo Fisher during his tenure with the Aggies.

Moreover, the Ags are 0-8 against ranked SEC teams on the road under Fisher, who once again is the subject of ire from the A&M fan base after another painful loss. As a result, the school's financial relationship with the coach is, again, a topic of discussion.

Insiders have reported that some decision makers inside Texas A&M will "find the money" if they have to. Could such an expensive decision be made?

What would A&M owe Fisher if it decided to move on from Fisher during or after the 2023 college football season? Here's what you need to know.

Jimbo Fisher contract details
How long is it?
10 years

How much is it? $94.95 million, and every dollar of it is guaranteed

A&M originally lured Fisher away from Florida State, where we won a national championship, signing the coach to the 10-year contract which, at the time, was worth $75 million.

After a solid-enough start, which included nearly making the College Football Playoff during the Covid-19 season in 2020, the school gave him a raise: a fully-guaranteed contract extension worth the $94.95 million figure.

In total, that keeps Fisher with the school through the 2031 season.
Unless it's willing to pay him to leave.

If he's fired in or after 2023: $76.8 million

2024: $67.55 million

2025: $58.2 million

2026: 48.75 million

2027: $39.2 million

2028: $29.55 million

2029: $19.8 million

2030: $9.95 million

How has Texas A&M played under Fisher?
2018: Aggies went 9-4 overall and 5-3 in SEC play, ranked No. 16, won the Gator Bowl

2019: 8-5 overall, 4-4 in SEC, won the Texas Bowl

2020: 9-1 overall, 8-1 in SEC, ranked No. 4, won the Orange Bowl

2021: 8-4 overall, 4-4 in SEC, selected to play in Gator Bowl but declined over Covid-19 issues, ranked No. 25 in Coaches Poll

2022: 5-7 overall, 2-6 in SEC, 6th in West Division

2023 (through Oct. 14): 4-3 overall, 2-2 in SEC, 4th in West

Re: Trade y’all

As Ed Orgeron told LSU when they were planning his departure:

"They said ‘Coach, you got $17.1 million dollars on your contract, we’re gonna give it to ya.’ I said, ‘what time you want me to leave and what door you want me to go out of?’"

Re: Trade y’all

Bjork needs to have his head examined for going forward with that type of contract. If you look around the SEC, I don't think any school has invested as much money into their program as A&M. Handcuffing yourselves a program, over a guaranteed 10 year contract, is nuts.

Having said that, if Weigman  didn't go down, A&M would have beat both Alabama and Tennessee. Max Johnson hasn't been impressive, but he'll probably have a career day on Nov 4th.

Re: Trade y’all

Bjerk hamstringed Ole Miss with the Matt Luke contract and no buyout.  Luke has walked away from the sport as a wealthy man.  Bjerk also blundered the stadium renovation, promising one thing and doing another.  I would ask for a refund if I had donated to that cause.

Bjork has zero to do with a contract or hiring a football coach at A&M

That is WAY over his pay grade.

His job is to give the people that do make those decisions everything they need.

That money amortization has zero to do with A&M keeping of firing Fisher.

A&M has 100+  boosters, or as they are known in A&M circles as BMAs. Big Money Ags, that have 100 million as front pocket money and will spend it on Aggie athletics, football the most important

Just ridiculous money I can’t even explain.  Those wells keep pumping, generation to generation.

Good or bad ( hasn’t been good in my opinion for years) but that’s the way it is. Has been sonce the late 70s when oil made tons and tons of Texans not just rich, but wealthy. The jimmy carter led oil screwup made all the chemical engineers that A&M produced very rich and the people they worked for wealthy. They went and bought Jackie Sherrill from Pitt and made him the highest paid coach in college football at the time.

Those BMAs didn’t ask the AD, School President or the board of trustees permission. They just said here is our new coach.  Been that way even since.

A Jimbo Fisher for……well, nothing. Someone please just take him

We already gave you Durkin and Bjerk!!!

Jimbo has proven himself a mediocre coach who knows when to run, like his exit from FSU to TAMU.  Now, where will he exit from TAMU?

I am hearing West Virginia, as Neal Brown is on the hot seat. I live in North Carolina and know some WVU alums. That's what they say.

That is his home, but I could see him go fishing and hunting forever.

I don’t disagree with you, but he has an itch or desire to be one of the greatest that has ever lived. That’s a fact. He thought that would happen at Texas A&M, guaranteed. But recruiting and money has never been a problem for Jimbo.  I just don’t know why or what the problems are, Fisher and A&M should be dominating. At least, that’s what I expected during his tenure!
