Spring Game thought’s

I will say OM may have the best stable of QBs in the nation. I am not kidding.  Howard to me has the best long term ability and natural feel for the position. Sanders is a stud and I think he will contribute in many ways. The Philly special he caught was nice and showed his athletic ability. Dart was good, but he might be a guy that transfers next fall. His main issue is he just doesn’t look like he is a natural thrower. Has a good arm and mechanics, but aims the ball a lot and hopefully he won’t stare down his 1st option like he did last year. Cost OM a few Ints inside the red zone last year.

As far as RB. Loaded.  OL should be very good. Lots of depth returning.

Marshall will be a stud as long as he stays out of off the field stuff. 5 star guy no doubt.
Watkins and Henry are players and Knox looked to be healthy and if he stays healthy he will be a big addition that I expected him to be last year. I see a few others contributing also

TE is loaded also

Going to be points points points this fall

Aa far as defense. Just not far enough along to say with a new staff and scheme. But I have followed Pete for years. He was a extremely solid DC before Saban hired him ( Ai know that sounds dumb because of course Saban isn’t going to hire a dummy;)

But Golding really is like a Saban type of clone when you talk about intelect and ingenuity. Add his work ethic he is a great coach and OM couldn’t have hired a better coach.

He will be successful

Why do you think Dart might transfer next fall?

I think he might get beat out and instead of losing a year of eligibility, he might just sit out and transfer.

Sanders only has 1 year. But I think Howard is the best of the three with Sanders second.  I could see Howard starting and Sanders getting some time at multiple positions including qb. Kind on a Taysom Hill role, and I think Sanders is a much better passer than Hill.

Why do you think Dart has not developed as most thought he would?

I just think some just are what they are. No fault to anyone. Some are instinctive at the position, some are mechanical.
I think he is a great athlete and instinctive runner. Instead of that natural progression of being able to look from your first option to #2 to #3 while hanging in the pocket, he uses his natural running ability to take over and he takes off

Lots of great prospects get to the major D1 level and can’t do it.

Sanders has proven he can do it and just watching Howard’s high school video and him in the spring game, in my opinion he is the best if the 3 and a natural at it

Re: Spring Game thought’s

Good summary. Howard has a cannon for an arm, and he seems to have more upside than Dart. Sanders did look better than I thought he would - considering he's still recovering. He's a terrific athelete.

Like you, I'm anxious to see what Golding does with defense. The spring game was just very vanilla on defense and designed that way so more points got scored to make it more exciting for fans.

Unfortunately I was correct on Marshall.  5 star talent. Negative star decision maker in life. Don’t blame Kiffin for taking a shot with him.
