First time since 1996 Ole Miss has started 0-6 —- pitching is a big issue right now

Last year all the stars aligned for Ole Miss in that later half of the season. The Rebels lost a lot of good players who were both leaders and productive. It will be hard to recreate last year.

Additionally, fans have to realize that Bianco had his back to the wall because he had no contract extension in the works. In both years that Ole Miss went to Omaha, Bianco's job was on the line. The fact is that Bianco is a good coach, but he has peaked and will never be any better than he is now. Ole Miss has offered him a lifetime contract, but in the upcoming years, Ole Miss needs to retire Mike nicely, perhaps getting him a cushy Athletic department job, and searching for a qualified coach who can keep the Rebels competitive.

Honestly, we have a ton of young talent on this team. It's going to be a rebuilding year, and I think Mike has earned the right to stay as long as he wants. When we get Elliot and Maddox back next month (fingers crossed), we'll look like a much better team. Injuries to our pitching staff have been killer so far.

National Champions - build a statue of Bianco and let him coach until he's tired and then give him an AD job. He got it done.
