    Why don't you think they kept Partridge and moved him to a position coach?

    I doubt Partridge wanted that or Lane. Pretty sure he has another year on contract as a DC. So he wasn’t going to take a demotion even if offered, which that ain’t how Kiffin does things.

    He got his shot to run the Defense after Durkin left and didn’t do a very good job at it.

    I don’t think Bama wanted him to go. Of course the Bamners will never admit that. 

    But he finished 13th in defense this year in the nation. Win a title in 2020 as DC.

    Saban was just praising him Dec 1st etc

    OM gave him a 500K raise.  His wives folks are from Cleveland MS. He has 3 girls that he wants to be close to them

    Add he and Lane have been close for a decade now. 

    Add 4 years as DC for Satan has to feel like 20 and he knows that Lane is much better to work for.


    Add I am sure Saban figured that he will bring in another guy and they will be fine on D.  Heck Pruitt is on the Market with no Show Cause which is amazing.


    But whatever the reason, its great for OM
