From all accounts Ole Miss is in a holding pattern

Kiffin still hasn’t signed the extension offered and it seems Auburn won’t make a move until after the Iron Bowl — I don’t care what Kiffin said last night — it was all non commital. I think he’s just waiting on the AU offer and he’s going to take it.

Just hope Keith Carter is doing all he can do at this point in the event it unfolds that way

From what I'm told Carter is doing a great job and we are well positioned.  I am liking Carter a lot if even half of what I'm told is true.  He may be the keeper of the gates we've always needed.

I've reached the point where  don't care if he leaves or not...   just leave our players alone.

This would be a good clause to put in Kiffin and future contracts, if you leave you must leave our players alone.

Re: From all accounts Ole Miss is in a holding pattern

I was not for hiring Kiffin when Ole Miss was looking for a new coach, but I supported our players and hoped that all would work out. Kiffin has always left jobs under quesionable circumstances sometimes in the middle of the night. I suspected that it might happen with us here at Ole Miss. The questions are rising with no creditable answers from Kiffin that might squelch the anxiousness of many of the fans. I personally, do not care whether he stays or goes, I only hope that the men on the team are not hurt and by extention, Ole Miss football itself. A man with integrity would be up front and honest with both his employer and the players.

Re: From all accounts Ole Miss is in a holding pattern

I'm for Lane staying just because losing a coach hurts recruiting and the knowledge that kids like Judkins would potentially follow him. Lane is a weird guy - very socially awkward and immature. I know he wants to Alabama job, but his antics are gonna end up preventing that from happening.

Sounds like Nebraska is gonna go after Rhule, so if Lane bolts, gotta think Fickell would have to be our primary target. And, with Lane still not having signed that contract, I'm still leaning on him leaving. Most of the folks I spoke to at the game last night think he's gonna be leaving as well. The longer Lane stalls, the more likely it looks like he's gonna leave, IMO.
