SEC Bye Weeks
Ole Miss got the raw end of the deal having the last open week given by the SEC scheduling committee. They did not get a bye week until Week 9 of the season. Waiting so late in the season to get a bye week creates concerns about player safety measures and the SEC should be all about the safety concerns of its athletes. In a 12 game schedule, no team should have to go more than 8 games without a break.

Next year Ole Miss gets a bye week in October I think - I think with 14 teams it’s just hard for someone to not get the short end of the stick as far as timing of when their bye week falls

2023 schedule shows Oct 14 as bye week after 6 games.
