Just saw that the VHS expansion is delayed

https://247sports.com/college/ole-miss/Article/Ole-Miss-Rebels-Vaught-Hemingway-construction-plans-delayed-due-partly-to-global-financial-obstacles-188241024/

With the college athletics landscape experiencing dramatic changes, Ole Miss is altering its capital campaign timeline to adapt. With the extensive overhaul of the Manning Center well underway, the Champions. Now. campaign is moving forward with several large projects on the docket. However, among those objectives, one significant change is delaying construction plans at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. "While the timeline is being adjusted, we look forward to seeing Vaught-Hemingway and the rest of our facility progress all become reality in the years ahead," said Keith Carter, Ole Miss Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics. "College athletics has seen tremendous priority shifts in recent months which affect our campaign strategy. Those changes are coupled with global financial obstacles related to interest rates, construction costs, supply chains, etc. In addition, more Foundation dollars are needed to assist teams with their growing operations budgets that are being impacted by inflation."

Along with the two football projects, other key plans of Champions. Now. include renovations of Oxford-University Stadium, Ole Miss Soccer Stadium, Ole Miss Softball Complex and Ole Miss Golf Complex. The campaign, which launched January 1, has already generated $40 million in donations.

From what I have heard about the VHS project, the expansion needs to be redesigned.  It appears to just be another "put a band-aid on it" to patch up the stadium.

I don't think that's the case this time. From reading between the lines, thanks to Biden's inflation, we could pay a premium for materials now and get nowhere near what we want or we can wait until the prices of materials come down a bit and get most of what we want.

That's what happens when over 40% of existing US currency was printed by Trump and Biden. When there is an influx of new currency chasing the same number of goods, that is a no-brainer that it creates inflation. Extremely basic economics. Trump and Biden royalty screwed us all over.

At least every thing Trump did wasn't a disaster.

That's true, but he absolutely shares blame for this inflation. I remember when the government started talking about sending out the COVID checks to everyone, and telling my wife that it's gonna wreck the economy. Lots of economists were also saying the exact same thing. But, he had the Fed print trillions of new money anyway.

Then, there are the PPP loans that were another disaster. I can name three different people that had their loans "forgiven", when COVID had zero impact on their business. Just those three alone accounted for over $100k given away, for "free". That's another instance of these damn clowns having the Fed fire up the printers without any care of how it would screw us all over.

Supposedly, the local manager/owner of EdFinancial services, which is a big originator of student loans, got so much PPP money that he bought two condos in Destin and one in Gatlinburg.  His PPP load was forgiven but he still owns the real estate he purchased.  It seems only fair that he should be given free lodging to all the students who he fleeced to get and increase their student loans.

Re: Just saw that the VHS expansion is delayed

Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden all share the blame. The federal government has been irresponsible for a very long time. I know a lot of people like Trump but his big government spending was terrible.

Biden was the straw that broke the camel's back though.

Absolutely correct. I saw where a study came out saying 75% of PPP loans didn't even reach employees, and over 90% of those "loans" were forgiven. It was a total scam.
