The Miami regional is opposite of the USM regional. We'll have Arizona starting off.
Hopefully this doesn't save Bianco's job. Two former Bianco assistants are national seeds. Dan @ Louisville and Cliff @ ECU.

Getting into the Regionals will probably get Bianco an extension and a raise. It will give him time to get closer to the State of MS retirement time of 25 years or age 60 (like he needs it!!!!). This will cause much more frustration among the realistic Rebel fans who realize a change at HC is needed in order to move Ole Miss baseball forward.

Cliff Godwin has been more impressive than Dan McDonnell,

Looks like there may be a tropical storm heading towards Miami. If that regional does get rained out before it's over, the highest seeded remaining team would advance.
Guys, this is a very winnable regional. But, mother nature may WAOM us out of it.

If we get rained out, it would just save us all the heartache of a super regional loss.

In addition, it could keep Bianco from having his contract extended and his pay raised!

If Carter extends Bianco's contract, then I will have a hard time believing he won't be on the chopping block himself. Most baseball donors/ticket holders aren't happy with the collapse of this program. If you noticed the games on TV, the atmosphere at Swayze was horrible with so many empty seats and folks just giving up. Baseball is a revenue generator for the University, and with attendance declining, folks are gonna take notice in revenue dropping as well.

It may be winnable — but has a Bianco team ever won a road Regional? I know they won a road Super in 2014 but can’t think of a road regional

Hmm...let's see here:
2015 Regional @ UCLA - lost both games (Maryland and Cal State Bakersfield)
2013 Regional @ NC State - lost 2 of 3 games (knocked out by William and Mary - both games!)
2012 Regional @ A&M - went 2-2 (knocked out by TCU)
2010 Regional @ Virginia - lost 2 of 3 games (knocked out by St Johns)
2008 Regional @ Miami - went 2-2 (knocked out by Miami)
2003 Regional @ Rice - went 1-2 (knocked out by Wichita State)
2001 Regional @ Tulane - went 1-2 (knocked out by Oklahoma State)
So, nope, a Bianco team has never won a road Regional before. Kind of surprising, to be honest.
