We're in serious danger of missing post season at this point. If State sweeps us this weekend, then that'll be the nail in the coffin.
The fact that Bianco actively tried to get the LSU job last year, and Keith still extended his contract is very telling. If you look at the overall state of our athletic department:
1. Basketball program is dead in the water.
2. Mike Smith being run off from the softball program.
3. Baseball program is crashing hard.
Keith has hung onto Lane, which I give him credit for that. But, outside of football (and maybe Coach Yo in women's basketball), the other two revenue sports are in very bad shape right now.

I thought softball was improving under the new coach Carter hired from Minnesota - but I don’t follow it that closely so I could be mistaken

When Lane leaves, Ole Miss athletics will be in a downward spiral, especially if Kermit and Bianco are still HC's. Carter needs to do something to right the ship. The fans need to show up and be loud at football games. Losing Lane is not out of the question if a big-name program wants him and will pay whatever it takes to get him.
