Right now Ole Miss baseball needs someone desperately. Bianco has peaked and is at the point where he does not see any fault in his coaching methods. He is stuck in his old ways and does not want to change. Ole Miss needs to look in the mirror, make a change, and work with it. This is what Tennessee did and look where they are now. Bianco has mostly gotten it in the past, but he is not getting it for the future.
Although I haven't followed it as closely as y'all have, I agree that it is time. A&M had to do it with Childress after last season. If you look at his tenure at A&M it almost carbon copies the one of Bianco at OM.
A&M has hired a home run in Schlossnagle. This year he has had to patch a team together with transfers from everywhere and has A&M at 6-6 in the SEC. But the future looks great. Has a top 3-4 class committed for 2023, top 4 for 2024 and has already several studs for 2025.
Has hired 3 super stud asst coaches.
No reason OM cant do the same.
Add that with the NIL situation, schools like A&M and OM should flourish as the 11.7 scholarship limits don't mean anything. The players an use this NIL money to supplement their scholarship allotments so they have zero out of pocket expenses now. It pays for complete room, board, books, tuition, etc so in the past you might lose a top player or 2 because you can't offer enough scholarship money, now you have that NIL deal waiting for him and it makes that a mute point. Schlossnagle hired super studs and support staff that know what they are doing and are killing it) I would bet Bianco is chasing his tail old school about it.
Schlossnagle is about Bianco's age, but him letting the asst coaches and support staff shows old dogs that change with the times win.

I honestly don't see how Bianco can survive after this season, unless he somehow pulls a miracle out of his hat and does the unlikely event of making it to Omaha. The guy has been given all of the support he can get, and yet, he actually interviewed for the LSU job last year and turned around this year and crapped the bed.
If memory serves, I think Godwin was being rumored to be Bianco's replacement, if he had actually gotten offered the LSU job. McDonnell signed a very nice contract at Louisville - which is good through 2028. And, let's face it - he has done a terrific job of rebuilding that program and support for it. So, I'm not sure if he'd want to leave at this point.

At this point it’s a legitimate concern if Ole Miss even makes Hoover, much less Omaha….

Ole Miss can't do the same because somehow, someway, Bianco will get a pass and the fans will be stuck with the hard headed, it's my way or no way, coach. Bianco needs to either retire with dignity or get fired in disgrace. He needs to go and let Ole Miss find another leader to elevate the program.
