Football recruiting weekend

Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin will once again play host to another talented group of prospects this weekend from the 2023, 2024, 2025 classes and even a 2026 prospect. The Rebels are into the third week of spring practice and the visitors will seemingly start to arrive late Friday and Saturday morning. Visitors will once again have a chance to see the team and staff in action. Here are the notable 2023 names to keep an eye on this weekend.Braxton Myers
School:
Coppell (Tex.) High
On3 Consensus: No. 119
Status: UncommittedThe 6-foot-1, 188 pound athlete from the Lone Star State seems to favor Clemson and USC early, scheduling official visits to both in June. Arkansas, Baylor and Oklahoma have also hosted the 13th-ranked cornerback in the country. New staffer Sam Carter and defensive line coach Randall Joyner will do their best this weekend to put Ole Miss’ best foot forward to insert themselves in the pecking order.Neeo Avery
School:
Glen Burnie (Md.) Good Counsell
On3 Consensus: No. 164
Status: UncommittedThe jumbo athlete recently reopened his recruitment, decommitting from Penn State at the end of March. According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Avery mentioned Kentucky and Ole Miss as the two schools showing the most interest since opening things back up. The 6-foot-4.5, 225 pound athlete is being recruited by Chris Partridge and Joyner. He has an official visit scheduled to Kentucky later this summer and the Rebels would like to get one on the schedule as well.Jamarious Brown
School:
Moss Point (Miss.) High
On3 Consensus: No. 366
Status: UncommittedThe 6-foot-3, 250 pound defensive lineman has been busy this summer. Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan, Arkansas and Arizona State have all offered the Magnolia State’s No. 6 prospect. Joyner and Nix will work in tandem here to try and keep the talented defender at home but with Nick Saban and Alabama on the offer sheet, it will be a tall task.Zahbari Sandy
School: Laurel (Md.) St. John’s
On3 Consensus: No. 497
Status: UncommittedThe Washington, D.C. area prospect booked his trip to Ole Miss as part of an SEC tour where he will also see South Carolina and Tennessee. Partridge is the 6-foot-1, 201 pounder’s primary recruiter and will be doing his best to keep the northeast momentum going for the Rebels after they’ve signed four-stars from Sandy’s neighborhood in the last three cycles. The Gamecocks as well as Maryland and Penn State look to be the three programs who will stand in Ole Miss’ way for now.Jai Eugene, Jr.
School:
Destrehan (La.) High
On3 Consensus: N/A
Status: UncommittedThe LSU legacy spoke with OMSpirit’s Ben Garrett two weeks ago about wanting to “forge his own path”.
“I hope to make a decision by the end of spring,” Eugene, Jr., said, in an exclusive interview with the Ole Miss Spirit. He currently holds an On3 RPM (Recruiting Prediction Machine) prediction to Ole Miss at 90.9 percent.“I’ve been in contact with (Ole Miss assistant) coach (Marty) Biagi for a minute now, since he was at Purdue,” the 6-foot, 188-pound Eugene, Jr., said. Biagi was hired to replace Coleman Hutzler as Ole Miss special teams coordinator in February. “I just recently started texting Kelvin Bolden, (Ole Miss) recruiting coordinator. So, for the most part, we’ve been touching base pretty often. I think those guys do a great job of recruiting, especially Biagi. He’s been one of my favorites since he was at Purdue. I wouldn’t mind being a Rebel.”
The two-way player says he hears the most from Mississippi State, Virginia and Purdue.Jordan McKnight
School:
Shelby (Miss.) Northside
On3 Consensus: N/A
Status: UncommittedThe Mississippi prospect is relatively unknown but will be in search of an offer from the Rebels’ staff as he takes his first trip to Oxford on Saturday.Robert Billings
School:
Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton
On3 Consensus: N/A
Status: UncommittedDespite not being ranked in On3’s Consensus rankings, Billings has one of the more impressive offer sheets on the visitors list. The 6-foot-1, 185 pounder holds notable scholarship offers from the likes of Georgia, Clemson, Oregon, Miami, Cincinnati, Louisville, Jackson State, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Florida State and Michigan and is making his second trip to Oxford on Saturday as he previously visited during the fall for a game weekend. He’s also visited LSU but has yet to receive an offer.Terien George
School:
Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County
On3 Consensus: N/A
Status: UncommittedAnother Georgia defensive back prospect will be in town. This will be George’s first trip to Oxford as he is following up on the offer which was extended from Partridge. As a junior, the 6-foot-2, 210 pounder made 47 tackles, defended 11 passes and intercepted three passes.DaKaari Nelson
School:
Selma (Ala.) High
On3 Consensus: N/A
Status: UncommittedThe big-bodied safety has visited Tennessee, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Auburn and will make his first trip to Ole Miss on Saturday. The 6-foot-3, 194 pound defensive prospect also holds notable offers from Clemson, Oklahoma, Michigan and Kentucky. Partridge is his primary recruiter and will do his best to make an impression on the Yellowhammer State recruit.Zakari Tillman
School:
Florence (Miss.) High
On3 Consensus: N/A
Status: UncommittedThe in-state prospect was originally scheduled to visit Oxford next weekend, but the 6-foot-3, 220 pound athlete bumped it up and will be in town this weekend. Mississippi State has offered but the Rebels have not. The two-way player from Rankin County will no doubt be in town talking with receivers coach Derrick Nix and hoping for an offer to be extended.Jackson Carver
School:
Windsor (Conn.) The Loomis Chaffee School
On3 Consensus: N/A
Status: UncommittedOriginally from Indiana, the 6-foot-6, 220 pound tight end will be in town fresh off a visit to LSU where he received an offer. Carver told On3’s Billy Embody he wants to be committed by the summer. Carver has yet to be rated, but the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives West Virginia the slight edge over LSU, Iowa, Kentucky and others. Here’s the rest of the list of visitors.

HUGE group

First time seeing a kid from Florence, MS on the list that I can remember off hand. I spent a lot of time there in my youth ( 70's) as my uncle and cousins all live there.

Jai Eugene JR, time is flying by lol
