It is quite apparent that Ole Miss is not the #1 ranked team in college baseball.  This weekend they have shown that their game preparation is in effect and both their pitching and hitting are suspect.  Tennessee is a good team and came to Oxford prepared to play.  Ole Miss will probably get swept today and reality will sink into the team. 

Playing weak teams at the beginning of the season in order to pad the W/L column is not a good way to be selected as the #1 team in college baseball.  With this showing, the Rebels will probably remain in the middle of the SEC West and be fortunate to make it out of a Regional.

Bianco has been selected as the manager of the 2022 Collegiate National Team, so Carter will probably not do anything about getting another coach.  Maybe he will not extend Bianco's contract.  It is unfortunate for Ole Miss that Bianco did not get the LSU offer last year, but many fans wonder if he was actually offered or if it was a ploy to get more money or an extension on his contract.

Whatever the situation, Ole Miss fans are missing the trip to Omaha each year.  The seasons seem to start well, but the Skipper just cannot get all the pieces of the puzzle put together in order to be a champion.  It will be interesting to see if the UT weekend is a wake-up call for the Ole Miss baseball team or will the team just keep doing their usual choking during the SEC schedule.
