AU tied it up in the 9th 5-5, Auburn had hit 4 scorchers in a row to start the inning to tie it, were down 5-3. After the 3rd scorcher the announcer said that is the 3 hardest hit balls by AU all nite. Well they scorch the 4th a double that ties it. Then the next guy scorches one up the middle, hits pitcher in the ankle and bounces off tot he 3rd base side. Runner safe and bases loaded. The unp runs out and gets the bat, he and the rest of the umps take it under the bleachers, the come back out with headsets on to birmingham. after about 10 minutes, the come out and call the runner out, which is 3rd out of the inning. So we are off tot he 10th now 5-5.
Auburn coach argues a little, but not a lot.
Made me think of back in the day when you could put tennis balls in those bats and hit rockets.
I am sure they confiscated the bat, hopefully it will go to the SEC offices. Since it is not Alabama, the might look into it.

AU wins in extra.
What gets me is the guy with the illegal bat didnt even get thrown out of the game, just called out.
Heck, if that is all the penalty is, i am coming to the plate every time with a illegal bat. It's worth the risk on getting checked and if you get caught, your just out.
something just aint right

College baseball needs to move to wooden bats. I realize it'll be more expensive, and most schools don't turn a profit in baseball. However, I see so many guys getting jammed and ending up with a line drive out of it.
