Ole Miss is stuck with Kermit until 2025. So is this another $10M buyout?!!??? Let the book of excuses flow!!!
Contract Highlights
2018: Hired at Ole Miss
4-4-19: Given extension to max years of 4 as State of MS employee
11-2-21: One week before the start of the 2021-22 season, men's basketball coach Kermit Davis and Ole Miss agreed to a contract extension to keep the 2019 SEC Coach of the Year in Oxford through 2025. Per Mississippi law, a public official's contract cannot last longer than four years, so Ole Miss has elected to roll Davis' contract over one additional year to its maximum length as it did in 2019 as well.

True but I don’t think Kennedy would have been the guy for an improved SEC with coaches like Musselman, Nate Oats, Buzz Williams, Rick Barnes and others. If AK wouldn’t have left in 2018 it would have been soon after, IMO. It was time for a parting - and I absolutely believe he felt so too
